Cloud Radio Access Networks (Cloud-RANs) have recently emerged as a promising architecture to meet the increasing demands and expectations of future wireless networks. Such an can enable dynamic flexible network operations address significant challenges, such higher mobile traffic volumes operation costs. However, implementation compute-intensive signal processing Network Functions (NFs) on General Purpose Processors (General Processor) that are typically found in data centers could lead performance complications, case overloaded servers. There is therefore need for methods ensure availability continuity critical functionality circumstances. Motivated by goal providing highly available fault-tolerant Cloud-RAN-based networks, this paper proposes design, specification, live migration containerized Baseband Units (BBUs) two settings, namely Long Range Wide Area (LoRaWAN) Term Evolution (LTE) Driven requirements challenges migration, approach shows LoRaWAN BBUs currently possible with relatively low downtimes support continuity.
